STOP RAPE PUNISH RAPIST
India is a democratic country and has given equal rights to women as men had in their hands; the Constitution of India also clearly mention these rights. As of now, Indian women are progressing in every field. They have empowered and conquered rural as well as urban areas. But the question that arises is “Are the man of this country are given the proper respect and a secured environment”.
Not at all! After so many years of dominance is still there in the nature of men, is in the true nature of man, I must say. Whenever he sees any woman (girl or lady) alone he wants to grab her in clutches and mash her like a flower. Every day one or the other girl is becoming a victim of so-called rape which word itself is shameful.
Today rape news has become the new headline where the victim is sometimes a daughter, young student, lady, or any woman. Even the two years old girl feels unsafe in the hands of men/her uncle.
The relations seem to have nil values. That pain, frustration, hurting, the humiliation the victim suffers. How they make her pray like a butcher, how brutally they rape her in self-respect along with physical and if they fail, they get more violent, more revengeful and come again with more dirty ideas and sometimes lower themselves to such an extent they can even result into loss of the life of an individual.
These types of activities are going common these days. In every country, these kinds of news coming on a daily basis. After providing empowerment to women in every field she is still very insecure because of the working environment of the society, as the media has become fast and is highlighting almost such cases every hour.
It is a distressing crime against which some strict actions must be taken by the government. As the government has modified the criminal law in 2018-19 but it is high time now to properly execute the laws. A woman has been suffering for years, whether it is due to dowry or harassment, or rape. After proving herself in every field still, she is living like a vassal. Although the government has passed many strict rules and punishments for the rapist the instances of rape are increasing day by day. The rapist should be hanged or sent to life imprisonment so that a strong lesson is passed in the society and no men in the coming future can dare to harass any woman or even touch her without consent.
New Amendment of 2018
In the criminal amendment of 2018, the legislature imposes the penalty of death in case of rape with women under the twelve years of age or gang rape with the woman under the twelve years of age. And the imprisonment of 20 years in case of rape with a woman under 16 years of age. But even after this amendment, the instances of rape are not decreasing. This is high time to introduce a strict mechanism to implement these laws so that these kinds of heinous crimes can be put under a cap.
