Madras high court allows conducting awareness campaign for the construction of Shri Rama Mandir

The Madras High Court allows, a plea to seek permission to conduct an awareness campaign; in reference to the construction of the Shri ram temple in Madhurai.
A bench of justice R Hemlata directs the police commissioner to consider the petitioner side. And to directs necessary orders with levying reasonable restrictions to it; in reference to free movement of vehicles in Madhurai.
The district convener of Shri Rama Bhoomi trust files the plea which was in relation to the spreading awareness and construction of the Rama temple.

The petitioner files a petition before an assistant commissioner for taking permission for conducting the campaign, and the ACP rejects the same in view of COVID 19. In reference to the same, the Assistant police commissioner contends that he has no jurisdiction to grant the permission as he has no power all over the 100 wards.

The court observes that the ACP should have forwarded the petition to the police commissioner; instead of rejecting the same. The court quotes that the Rama mandir is very close to the heart of the sentiments of Hindus. And when the general public at large is allowed to move in halls, public places, restaurant with necessary safety measures; then the campaign can also take place using the safety measures necessary for COVID 19
