Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh granted 21-day furlough;
On Monday, February 7; Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the head of Dera Sacha Sauda in Sirsa; has been allowed a 21-day furlough to visit his family in Gurugram; according to officials.
“Nor will the prisoner hold any event, meeting, discourse, religious or political statement or speech etc through physical or digital medium during the furlough term,” the release warrant added.

The Dera chief had asked to the Superintendent of Sunaria jail for a furlough, according to official sources.
The Dera chief granted emergency parole from sunrise to sunset last year to visit his ill mother. On a handful of instances, he released from prison due to health concerns.
He is serving a 20-year imprisonment at his Sirsa ‘ashram’ for rapping two of his female students. A special CBI court in Panchkula declared him guilty in August of 2017.
In the poll-bound states of Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, the Sirsa-based Dera has a sizable following.
