International visits by Anand Teltumbde were to further maoist agenda: NIA to Mumbai Court

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has informed the Mumbai court that Bhima Koregaon accused Anand Teltumbde`s worldwide trips to boost Communist Party of India (Maoist) operations [Sudhir Dhawale & Ors.  v.  The reply came in response to Teltumbde’s discharge appeal in the case involving the Elgar Parishad event that; allegedly led to the violence at Bhima Koregaon in 2018.

NIA, which opposes his application, claims that; Teltumbde used to attend foreign conferences under the cover of academic tours in order to promote CPI’s operations (Maoist).

“He used to attend international conferences under the cover of his academic tours to Canada, Pakistan, the United States, France, and other countries to boost the operations of the CPI(Maoist).

” He used to exchange material on CPI (Maoist) philosophy, training, and working strategy with worldwide communist organizations during the aforementioned conferences,” According to the NIA, Teltumbde carried Naxalite literature from his worldwide tours and distributed it among CPI(Maoist) members.

The NIA also submitted a response to primary accused Sudhir Dhawale’s motion for release from all charges in the case.  The reply stated that; co-accused Mahesh Raut gave Dhawale and Surendra Gadling a sum of Rs.  5 lakh for further agitation at Bhima Koregaon.

The response to Dhawale’s plea said that; the agency’s inquiry uncovered CPI (Maoist) leaders’ extensive ties to the Bhima Koregaon programme as part of a well-planned scheme
