MAHARASHTRA TO HAVE LOKAYUKTA LAW following the centre’s take on the position of Lokpal
The Chief Minister and the State Cabinet would be taken under the State Lokpal’s Ambit
The Anna Hazare Committee recommendation of a State Lokayukta was approved by the Maharashtra State on the eve of the winter session of the legislature, remarked State Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis.
The State Lokayukta follows the lines of the Centre’s already established Lokpal, the current Lokpal for the Union Government is the Acting Chairperson Lokpal, Shri Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty who has been incumbent since 28th May, 2022.
The Lokayukta will take under its ambit the Anti-corruption laws while also fulfilling the objective of the Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena- Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) coalition in the State embodying “Complete Transparency”, remarked Mr. Fadnavis.
