Plea in Supreme Court seeks to stop event in Delhi calling for India to be declared Hindu Rashtra
An event is held today; at 5:00 p.m. at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, where people confirm a decision for the; country to become a Hindu Rashtra, according to posters approved by the; Sudarshan News station.
An urgent suit filed in the Supreme Court; against a planned gathering in Delhi today in which; speakers publicly announced and endorse a resolution for India; to be transformed into a Hindu Rashtra (Qurban Ali v. Union of India).
The motion filed on Thursday part of a previous suit filed in; the Supreme Court requesting an investigation into alleged hate speech directed at the; Muslim community delivered at the Haridwar Dharam Sansad last year.
The plea presented before the Bench by; Advocate Rashmi Singh, who presided over by Justice AM Khanwilkar. The Court instructed the petitioners to go to the authorities and present them; its previous rulings in the Dharam Sansad case.
On Monday, May 9, the plea heard again.
According to the petitioners, an event organized today at 5:00 pm at; Talkatora Stadium in Delhi where one Shankaracharya of Puri and ‘Mahant’ of the; Sri Govardhan Math, Nischalananda Saraswati, will publicly state; and affirm a resolution for the country to become a Hindu Rashtra, according to this; web poster released by the Sudarshan News channel.
“A video of Suresh Chavankhe urging Hindus to attend the; aforementioned event is also available on social media,” the petition states.
The petition stated that; Chavhanke had previously made such a hate speech in Delhi, and the Supreme Court ordered the police; to produce a stronger affidavit in the petition opposing such a speech.
