Judges, Stenographers Facing Difficulties as State Website Not Updated with Latest Versions of State Enactments and Rules: Bombay High Court
On Monday the High Court of Bombay noticed that; judges and stenographers were facing difficulties getting hold of the latest State laws; and amendments because the official website not updated.
The State is directed by the bench of Chief Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice MS Karnik; to file its report showing obedience of an earlier order passed in 2017; on the Maharashtra Government’s official web portal regarding the regular updates.
Significantly the court sought about details on the lack of clean drinking water in courts and tribunals across the State.
A coordinate bench supervised by Justice Abhay Oka had passed orders for the improvement of infrastructure in courts and tribunals on May 15, 2017
The directions passed regarding to make available uploaded versions of the State Enactments and rules within six months of the order. The order further mentions a similar direction passed in the 1996 case of Sanjeev Gorwadkar vs State of Maharashtra.
For the petitioner Advocate Uday Warunjikar submitted that several court complexes still have lack basic infrastructure like clean drinking water. The bench observed and adjourned the matter to February 14.
