Interim Orders in Punjab and Haryana are extended until September 15 by the Punjab and Haryana High Court

All interim decisions and directions have been extended by the Punjab and Haryana High Court till September 15, 2021.

The ruling was issued in suo moto proceedings brought by Chief Justice Ravi Shanker Jha and Justice Arun Palli in response to the worrisome spike in COVID-19 cases.

On Tuesday, Senior Advocate Anupam Gupta, who was nominated as the Amicus Curiae; presented the Court with documents detailing the current situation in India and other countries as a result of the pandemic (COVID-19).

The data presented before the Court was considered to be relevant to the issues under consideration and; useful in determining whether the Court’s interim arrangements/orders should be continued.

As a result, the Court decided that; the temporary arrangement is made on April 28, 202021, as explained in an order dated August 20, 2021, should continue to be in effect.

In light of “the severity of the pandemic and the potential of its surge in the near future;” the Court decided on June 30 to prolong all interim orders/ directives issued by it and; subordinate courts until August 31, 2021.
