The Lucknow District Magistrate had passed an order in which he had strictly prohibited a gathering of 20 or more people. Singer Kanika Kapoor on the account of hosting and attending several high profile parties was also charged under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 which announces a jail term for one month or fine or both, for showing disobedience to the order duly promulgated by the public servant.

Moreover, in a plausible unfortunate event of the death of a person due to COVID-19, who came in contact with Kanika Kapoor shall deepen the problems for the singer as she shall be then liable for Causing death by negligence not amounting to Culpable Homicide under Section 304 A and shall be liable for a jail term extending up to 2 years or fine or both.
Hence, on the legal lines, it is expected of each and every individual to follow the quarantine rules and stay at home for the entire lockdown period.
